WHO IS LEADING THE CLEAN AIR MOVEMENT?

CHARITIES AND PRESSURE GROUPS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE CLEAN AIR MOVEMENT

The governments Clean Air Strategy 2019 report says “Air pollution is the top environmental risk to human health in the UK, and the fourth greatest threat to public health after cancer, heart disease and obesity”.

As the UK’s leading brand of alternative transport solutions for children and adults we believe it is our duty to help support the efforts to make sure clean air for all is a realistic ambition.

The school run is unrecognisable from 15 years ago when Micro started in the UK. Now over 1 million children scoot to school everyday on a Micro scooter. That’s 1 million cars of the roads and millions of toxic CO2 removed from in and around the school gate.

Of course we would like more and more children and adults to scoot in a sustainable way. It is why we are huge supporters of groups like Mums for Lungs, Sustrans, Living Streets as well as worldwide initiatives like Clean Air Day.

We take a closer look at some of the groups campaigning for clean air and provide links on how you can get involved.

MUMS FOR LUNGS

Mums for Lungs is a group of London parents united in their commitment to deliver clean air for everyone — for our children and future generations. With groups in Brixton, East Sheen and Walthamstow this grass roots initiative is campaigning for the government to introduce legislation and ideas that will make a positive different to the air with breathe.

Micro Scooters UK have worked in partnership with Sustrans for 2 years helping to push for clean air in and around schools and more active journeys via the Big Pedal challenge.
