ADVENTURE WITH MICRO
THIS IS NOT A SCOOTER, IT IS A ROCKET READY FOR LIFT OFF!
Beverley is one of the members of our customer service team. A walking font of all knowledge she knows everything there is to know about scooters and accessories.
This craft will transform your children’s scooter into a rocket on a galactic voyage. It is particularly great as an activity for rainy days during the school holidays!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A sheet of newspaper
- Sticky tape
- Glitter and glue
Prepare your breakfast table as a space station.
Take a large sheet of newspaper and paint it the colours of a very bright rocket. If possible let dry and paint the other side a contrasting colour. When the sheet is dry, roll it up loosely around you the pole of your scooter and tape it so that it doesn’t unroll. Secure it at the top of the scooter stem. Using scissors, carefully make five or six cuts in bottom of the roll – about 15 cm (6 inches) long. Bend the cut flaps up and out. Decorate theses with glue and glitter to add flames coming out of your rocket! Stick stars to the middle section, give it a window. You could even add in strips of paper or ribbon which move in the wind when your child scoots along.
Our scooter handle ribbons would be great for this!
To make the top simply take a piece of card and cut it into a large circle. make a cut at one point from the edge of the circle and stop when you reach the middle then secure as a cone shape. Hole punch in intervals around the base of the cone and secure to handlebars with string.
That’s it, you’re all ready for your test flight! All that’s left is to dress up in your most favourite fancy dress and head off on an intergalactic flight with your superhero and princesses friends.
