We couldn’t wait to share the pictures of our latest Hospital scheme with you (yes, they are that good).
For those not in the know every month we donate our scooters to a local hospital for the children being treated there to use to their hearts content.
We normally spend the day with the staff and children and have a whale of a time. This month was absolutely no exception. We had a ball and fell a little bit in love with some of the children there.
We arrived at the Amazon Ward armed with six scooters in all. Two 3in1 Mini Micro seats for the children aged one or above and two each of our Mini and Maxi scooters – plus a whole host of Union Jack inspired accessories. From scooter races up the corridors to ribbon design competitions we had just the best time with everyone we met.
It never fails to hit us just how amazingly brave children can be. Suffering from conditions that as mums, we can’t even bear to contemplate, we are thrilled to be able to bring just a little bit of respite for these children and their parents.
We have also been told that the active nature of scooter riding does have an impact on helping children to recover – whether it is used as a distraction technique to make recovery more fun or as in this case enabling the children to get access to the outdoor play facilities we are pleased that we can help even in a small way.
Thanks to everyone at Peterborough Hospital who welcomed us.
It is our aim to provide scooters to every Hospital in the UK. Nominate a hospital to receive scooters here.
