  • 3 min read

According to Huff Post here's themost common New Year Resolutions.

  1. Lose weight
  2. Get organised
  3. Learn to say no
  4. Travel more
  5. Spend more time with family and friends
  6. Learn a new skill or hobby
Hands up if you've signed up to at least one of the above. We certainly have!

If you need a little help on getting to the end of January and staying loyal to your new year promises, here is how owning a Micro scooter can help you achieve your 2018 goals.

1 Lose Weight

We carried out a study recently looking at how many calories scooting can burn. The findings by the University of Brightonsuggested that scooting can help to shed up to 300 calories per hour. Varying the terrain and upping the anti on the speed that you reach will have even more positive results. Used alongside healthy eating and setting yourself achievable goals, scooting can really help make a difference to general weight loss for 2018. Lose weight without even realising it; we call it the secret workout. Read more here >>

2 Get Organised

Getting organised is all about putting small and achievable habits in place and not setting sights too high. By replacing the mundane with small positive changes can motivate you to become organised. Take scooting the school run for example. It's way more fun than bundling into the car. Ensure after every journey scooters and stowed somewhere easy to access so that they are ready for the next journey ahead. Here's a few tips on completing a scooter MOT to get ready for the month ahead.

3 Learn to say no

Okay so this one might be a little more tenuous, but here goes. Empower yourself to stand up for what you believe. Bear with us on this. By making a small commitment to the greater good can have positive results. For example you could make a commitment to saying no to jumping in the car for small journeys and by reaching your destination under your own steam. The benefits are positive for the environment, health and your pocket too! Here are a whole host of ways you can become more 'commuter savvy' by scooting your commute in 2018>>

4. Travel More

Okay so we can't promise that by owning a scooter will transport you to far off places and exotic locations. But what we can tell you is that we honestly believe is that scooting can make you feel entirely different about travel to new (and old) places. Scooting can make you feel differently about how you actually get to your destination.

5. Spend more time with family and friends

Tick! Scooting unites on a number of different levels and it has been proven that children crave time with their parents. If you share common goals with friends like commuting in the same direction or getting children to school, clubs, parties at the same time and place. Unite and travel together and use the excuse of scooting to hook up with friends en-route. You will have lots of fun on the journey too.

6. Learn a new skill or hobby

Scooting could be that hobby. Honestly. It will literally change the way you view journeys and getting from a to b. If you need a bit more convincing then here are a few blog posts written to help twist your arm:
