Each day in England 8.3 million children and their parents make their way to school. Whether they scoot, cycle, walk, drive, catch the bus or run (!) thats a lot of journeys every day of the week. All of these methods of transport wouldn't be possible without the help of millions of support workers. From the indomitable Lollipop people, fabulous school bus drivers, walking bus leaders, local community support officers, car parking attendants and many many more who make getting to school safer, more fun and easier for us all.
At a time when there is increasing concern around children's health and wellbeing levels the school run heroes who do their upmost to get our children to school in a healthy way are sometimes overlooked and undervalued.
We think its time to redress the balance and are therefore asking you to nominate your school run heroes.
NOMINATE YOUR SCHOOL RUN HERO
Who is it that makes the school run happier for you? It could be your local lollipop person, a friendly teacher who stands as school run patrol the helpful bus driver or anyone else who you think deserves a bit of love and appreciation for making your school run journeys just that little bit more bearable.
